Why not join our society?

The West Georgia Amateur Radio Society (WGARS) exists to promote amateur radio activity in the West Georgia area, to encourage the study of radio communications, to improve communications skills of area amateur radio operators, and to provide effective radio communications in time of  local or national emergency. The Society conducts regular

communication nets as well as provides communication support for community activities like the American Heart Association bike ride. WGARS also provides emergency communications and assistance to the Carroll County, Heard County, and Haralson County areas.

 

If you're not already a member, why not join WGARS. All you need is an interest in ham radio in West Georgia and East Alabama; no amateur radio license is required. The Society meets every second Tuesday at 7PM (1900) local Georgia time. The location depends on the number of the month in the calendar year. On odd numbered months,  meetings are held at the Carrollton Community Center in Carrollton, Ga. On even numbered months, dinner meetings are held at Ryan's Steak House in Carrollton.

Dues are currently $15 for individual members, and $20 for family membership. A membership application can be viewed and printed from your browser.  Membership dues can either be paid at a meeting or can mailed, along with the application to:
