Nets

W.G.A.R.S. runs two Communications 'Nets' every week.

  • On Mondays, The W.G.A.R.S. Net is held at 8pm (20:00 hours) local time on the 2 Meter repeater.

  • On Thursdays, the A.R.E.S. Net is held at 8pm (20:00 hours) local time on the 2 Meter repeater.

The WGARS 2 Meter repeater (W4FWD) operates on a frequency of 146.640 with a standard minus 600Khz transmit frequency offset. The repeater uses a 131.8 tone for access.

If you wish to participate as net control in either net, the preambles are available for download: Regular net (zipped) and ARES net (zipped). Unzip the file(s) and open them in "notepad" or your favorite text editor. Then print them for a hardcopy.

Severe Weather Nets

  •  As necessary, Severe Weather nets are called by the A.R.E.S. Emergency Coordinator or other appointed persons.

  • On Sundays, 6pm to 7:30pm (18:00 to 19:30 hours) local time, The North West Georgia Disaster Net meets on 146.520 Simplex.

The preamble for the A.R.E.S. Severe Weather net is now available for download: Severe Weather net (zipped). Like the other preambles, unzip it and open it in "notepad" or your favorite text editor. Then print it for a hardcopy.
