Roger Steele - KC4HNX

It is with sadness we mourn the passing of Roger Steele, KC4HNX. Roger's never ending encouragement to the club and it's members will be greatly missed. Below is a portion of Roger's obituary:

Marion Roy “Roger” Steele, Jr., age 67, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019. He was born in Wauchula, Florida on July 17, 1951 to the late Marion Roy Steele, Sr. and the late Grace Marie Rogers Steele. Roger graduated from Sebring High School in Sebring, Florida. He was an assistant store manager with Publix for many years and then worked in sales with the Nolan Company. He finished his career at Walmart as an Assistant Store Manager in Carrollton, Georgia. Roger was an amateur HAM radio operator, a member of the West Georgia Amateur Radio Society. He was an avid fisherman and made fishing rods, was a member of the Little River Gun Club. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Douglasville.

Roger is survived by his wife of 13 years, Leigh Dukes Steele; stepsons, Zachary Simpson and Wyatt Simpson, both of Douglasville; brothers, Jeff Steele of Ona, Florida, Tom Steele of Punta Gorda, Florida; sisters-in-law, Rhonda Goolsby, Lynn Jordan and husband Barry, Tammy Hicks; several nieces and nephews.
